Bengaluru Renewable Energy Expo which was scheduled on 28th, 29th & 30th November 2018,
Manpho Convention Centre is postponed. The new dates to be announced shortly.

WHY EXHIBIT

Energy is one of the key factors for economic growth, social and industrial development across the world. The development of renewable energy sources (RES) is necessary for the sustainable development of any country due to depleting fossil fuel level, climbing fossil fuel prices across the world and more recently pressure for reduction emission level. Though there is huge untapped renewable energy potential available for developing countries, today energy security has become an area of prime concern as equality between economic progress and environmental sustainability is inevitable.

    GROWTH DRIVERS

  1. Karnataka is the 3rd highest installed capacity in renewable energy and with the development of Asia's biggest solar park at Pavagada in Tumakuru district, it is confident of clinching the number one spot by 2018.
  2. The Draft Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Policy 2014-20 has laid down collective targets (for wind, micro-mini hydro, and biomass and cogeneration) of 625 MW, 675 MW and 700 MW for FY18, FY19 and FY20, respectively.
  3. Karnataka government policy mandates adding a minimum of 2,000 MW of solar generation capacity by 2021 in a phased manner, with a minimum of 1,600 MW of grid-connected utility-scale solar.
  4. The government encourages setting up of projects under the Feed-In Tariff Based Mechanism/Competitive Bidding, IPPs, Captive & Group Captive, and the REC mechanism.
  5. Provision of “single window” for clearances, approvals and technical consultation
  6. Encourage decentralized generation & distribution of energy where grid is inaccessible.
  7. Promote R&D and innovations, skill development in the sector.
  8. Take up pilots and demonstration projects to establish cost effectiveness, viability and reliability of various technologies like Waste-to-Energy, Hybrid technology projects etc.
